Angela & Angie

I shot on location and in the studio today with Angela and her friend Angie. I liked the overcast lighting that was around at the beginning of the location shoot, but then it turned into a hot/humid sunny day with the clouds always moving in - constantly changing the exposure. So, we moved to the studio for the remainder of the shoot. It was a good time shooting! Thanks to Angela and angie.

Shot of the Week

This week I had the opportunity to work with Erin, a young and fun model, who has just recently entered into the modeling industry.
Thanks to Mike for going on the food run during the shoot, and an even bigger thanks to Erin for coming out on such short notice. Good luck modeling!

Summer Time

Today I got to work with a fun and energetic model, Danielle. Her perfect, and sometimes devilish, smile along with a carefree attitude complimented her great hair colour and a perfect little dress. It was a pleasure to work with her and I look forward to collabarating on future shoots.

Another Great Shoot

I'm very lucky to be finding these great models, great locations and co-operating weather.
Today, I had the pleasure of working with another amateur model, Pamela. Once we found an expression that worked, the frames kept on coming easily. At the end of the shoot I experimented a bit with the lighting and Pamela took over with the posing. The bottom image of the above three is a result of the experimenting.
Thanks again Pamela for modeling!

Local Fair

This week a traveling fair came to Barrhaven. I talked to the organizers while they were setting up to see about doing a shoot in and around the fair. The organizers of the fair were extremely friendly and let us have full rein of the rides, games, and food concessions. This provide a great opportunity to shoot 2 beautiful models (Emily, a first time model (top image) and her sister Hannah (middle image), another relatively new model) in a fun location and get some interesting/story telling images. Thanks my assistant, Alex, and the two wonderful models!

Great Model & Location

Today I had the opportunity to shoot a great model at a great location. It was her first shoot, yet with the great shots you'd think she'd done this many times before. I'll post more of the images later in my gallery.
Thanks again Sophie! - you did a great job and I look forward to working with you again!

One a Week - Photo Project

We've started a new project, this time with 8 local photographers. Apparently, what we had going on with the 'one a day' project has caught on. I'm looking forward to seeing the others work and being challenged (personally and by the others images). The image above was one of many taken today. I had the opportunity to work with a veteran in the studio today, Cindy, she made my job easy, as you can see by the photo. Some of the images will be making it into Grappler Magazine, a publication that focuses on the world of Mixed Martial Arts - MMA (Ultimate fighting/UFC/King of the Cage, etc.)
I look forward to your comments!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It's weird not having to do a shot a day anymore, but it's also nice (I was starting to hit a creative block). I can't wait to get started on the shot a week project and my other personal project. I think I might go and shoot today.

Today is my birthday... YA!! I think today is the day that I turn the age that people think I'm old - 30. I don't think it's that old, but I'd like to know where my 20's went!

I'll post again when I have my shot done for the 'shot a week' project.

Cheers

Last Day

Well, today I had the intention of doing a fashion shoot to end on a high note, but my model couldn't make it at the last minute. So, with my birthday being in a few days (May 2), I received an early B-day present - Tickets to Game 3 of the Senators vs New Jersey! The shot is with a camera phone from my seat! Not the greatest quality, but it's a shot/memory. I have now shot with 3 different imaging devices throughout the contest (DSLR, Scanner, Camera Phone). It was a great game - Thanks Jenn.

So, the contest/project is now over. I had a great time shooting and coming up with new ideas daily. Thanks to the other guys that were shooting (Marc, Colin, Pat), you kept raising the bar, provided encouragement and digs/shots when the images were sub-par. It was a blast!

Keep checking back here - we are starting a new project as I mentioned in a previous post and I'm now working on a personal project with the goal of the images to be presented in an exhibition/gallery showing.

Cheers!
